quotes

"The past cannot be recreated once it is lost. By collecting, restoring and preserving our heritage today, we ensure tomorrow's generations can experience, understand and appreciate where we came from."

A Little Bit of History . . .

The Queensland Heritage Rally was first held in Biloela in 2004 after the Callide Dawson Machinery Preservation Club Inc. recognised the need for a state-wide event that would bring together Queensland's collectors, restorers and enthusiasts of historic machinery. The Club not only hosted the inaugural rally but was instrumental in developing the concept and bringing it to life, establishing what has since become Queensland's premier gathering for the machinery preservation movement.

Over the past 22 years, the Queensland Heritage Rally has grown from a single event into the flagship celebration of Queensland's mechanical and rural heritage. Held biennially in different regions of the state, the rally showcases vintage tractors, stationary engines, heritage vehicles, working machinery demonstrations, restoration achievements, traditional trades and the rich history of Queensland's pioneering past. It provides an opportunity for clubs, exhibitors and the wider community to come together, share knowledge, celebrate restoration excellence and inspire future generations to preserve our heritage.

Today, the Queensland Heritage Rally is proudly conducted under the stewardship of the Australian Collectors & Restorers Association (Qld) Inc. (ACRA Qld). Working closely with the host club, ACRA (Qld) provides overall guidance and coordination to ensure the rally continues to grow while maintaining the high standards and welcoming atmosphere that have made it one of Australia's most respected heritage machinery events.

Together, ACRA (Qld) and the host clubs remain committed to fostering the preservation, restoration and operation of historic machinery, while encouraging new enthusiasts to become involved in protecting Queensland's mechanical heritage for future generations.
